Theseus and the Minotaur

Design by Gryphon Corpus

Black figure vase painting is probably the best recognized ancient Greek art form. Its striking black and gold or red colours were most often used to depict scenes from mythology, showing the exploits of gods and heroes. And is a sock not very like a vase? Let your legs tell the tale of the Minotaur from his young days in his mother’s lap, to his death at the hand of godlike Theseus.

The Verdant Gryphon ‘Bugga’, 4.3 oz/412 yds, 70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon, shown in (1 skein) Rhinocerous Beetle and (1 skein) Bog Fritillary
